Spelling to Communicate (S2C)

A motor-based communication method empowering nonspeaking, minimally speaking, and unreliably speaking individuals to access their thoughts and express themselves.At Spectrum Guidance, Spelling to Communicate (S2C) provides nonspeaking and minimally speaking individuals with a meaningful way to communicate. Through letterboards, clients develop motor skills, accuracy, and confidence while learning to spell words, form sentences, and share their own ideas. This method is supported by the International Association for Spelling as Communication (I-ASC), which promotes best practices and ongoing research in the field. Each session focuses on regulation, communication, and independence, helping clients grow into confident self-advocates.
